Leland Hugh Van Orden

September 8, 1929 — November 3, 2025 (age 96)

Leland Hugh Van Orden passed away on November 3, 2025 at Autumn Care Assisted Living. He was born September 8, 1929 to Leland and Meba Taggart Van Orden. He lived in Lewiston his whole life. He was drafted into the Military during the Korean War. He served in Germany.

He graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor Degree in Science Industrial Tech in 1959. He received his pilot's license and owned his own airplane and flew until he was 80 years old. He loved flying and it was one of the most enjoyable things in his life.

He is survived by his nieces and nephew.

We would like to thank the staff at Autumn Care Assisted Living for all the wonderful care that they gave to him.

Thanks to Hospice CNS Robert and his staff, and Dr. Salisbury and his office for the 30 years that they took care of him.

Graveside services will be held at the Lewiston Cemetery on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 12:00 PM. All friends and family are invited.

I remember Leland giving his nephew, Donny Anderson, and me a ride in his airplane when we stayed at his home in Lewiston. It was my first airplane ride. I will always remember his kindness and generosity! A good man!
