September 29, 1940 — November 10, 2025 (age 85)
Arne Lewis Pedersen, 85, of Dutton, MT, passed away peacefully in Logan, UT on November 10, 2025. He was born on September 29, 1940 to Elsie LaPorte and Bertel Pedersen in St. Ignatius, Montana.
Arne proudly served in the US Air Force for 23 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He loved his country and served all over the world. At the height of the Cold War, while serving in the Pentagon, he was instrumental in dismantling a KGB spy network at great personal risk.
After retiring, he and his wife, Bev, owned and operated Cafe Dutton in Dutton, MT, for over 30 years. People came from all around to have a famous “Monster Burger”. Arne loved to cook and loved to serve the people who enjoyed his food. Arne was a lifetime “slicer” golfer and enjoyed every outing with his golf buddies. He loved living in Dutton and serving the town and the people there. Arne was very touched by the kind send-off that his Dutton friends gave him when he moved to Utah just one month ago.
Arne had a very sharp memory and was quick-witted. His sense of humor endeared him to many people.
Arne is survived by his children: Kim (Bryan) Fong, Clark (Lynor) Pedersen, and Curtis (Elayna) Pedersen, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Per Arne’s request, there will be no public memorial services held.
Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at Allen Mortuaries.
